It is a fine day on November 9, 1960 and I am driving a white Lincoln Continental from the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port to the Armory. The President Elect, John F. Kennedy, is due to give his acceptance speech there. He is sitting in the front passenger seat beside me.

The street is lined with throngs of waving and shouting supporters who press closer as we pass. The president elect waves and speaks in return. The entire scene is surreal to me. How did I get to this point in my life....a Special Agent (SA) with the Secret Service who is driving the next President of the United States to his acceptance ceremony.

At heart, I am still just a farm kid who was born to the depression and at age 14 was farming rented land with a mule and plow to make a little money. Then I was drafted into WW II and find myself here, only to become a Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) with the Secret Service.

Come join me in Special Agent In Charge as I recount the many trips and events that continue after I safely delivered President Elect Kennedy to the Armory.
